Corocoro and beyond
We left Comanche in the morning after a nice mate tea and bread from our host.
Refilling water from a local shop and Kai quick morning wash at the town plaza.
The first part of our route is on the asphalt road to Corocoro, a pretty mining town which we reach mid-day.
After an ice cream from a local shop and refilling our water resources once more we left town in the direction of Topohoco on another stony/bumpy road.
In the late afternoon a bolivian man on a bicycle catches up with us and tells his story: he is a local town elected official and has made his way to a regional gathering for politicians in Corocoro by bicycle and is now on his way back towards Patacamaya (45 km to go) and will try to get ther during the night (sounds really challenging to us). We where pushing our bikes up a hill side by side, until the hill got steeper and steeper and we could not keep up with him anymore. The slope turned out to be several km long and when we reached the top we where exhausted and ready to set up our camp.
We found a good spot hidden by small bushes a bit away from the road, with no settlements in sight 😀.
